Batting cages have been used throughout the baseball community for years. They are utilized by the major leagues, farm leagues, little league, and even by individual players at their home or a sport facility. The purpose of a batting case is to have a safe yet contained area where a player can practice their swing, without the bother of chasing down the ball after it’s been hit. When batting inside the cage, any ball hit by the player will safely bounce off the side of the cage or netting, and fall to the ground. One of the nice things about batting cages is that a player can practice by him or herself, since it is used in conjunction with a pitching machine in most instances. There is not necessarily a need to wait for someone else to pitch the ball, or a need to take turns pitching and hitting.
